PE and Sport Premium

Since 2014 the PE and Sport premium has been provided by the government to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils. The funding is also given to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles. Information on how much PE and sport premium funding primary schools receive and advice on how to spend it has been published.

Thornton Primary School is eligible for this funding and received £21,400 last year (2022-2023) and £21,400 this year (2023-2024).
