Inclusion at Thornton

At Thornton we are passionate about developing the whole child: academically, socially and mentally. We believe in integrating and engaging all pupils within all aspects of the curriculum including extra-curricular activities by working closely with parents, staff and specialist support to provide inclusive education.

Our Inclusion team includes our Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) staff and Pastoral Team. Our team is led by Mr Darby, who is our Acting Special Educational Needs Coordinator, Ms Devi, our Pastoral Manager, Mr Bates, Sports Coach, Miss Wilcox, SEND Teaching Assistant and Lead Practitioner for Autism and Mr McAlinden, SEND Teaching Assistant.

If you wish to speak with any of the Pastoral Team, please contact the School office or catch us by the gate in the morning and after school. Any complaints relating to SEND provision can be made via a meeting with the Headteacher in the first instance. If a suitable resolution cannot be found, formal complaints can be made to the school by following the guidance found in the 'Policies' section of the website.  This is accessed by using the 'Key Information' tab and then the 'Policies' tab where you can find the 'Complaints Policy'.
