Sladefield Year 2 Transition

Hi Sladefield Parents and Children,

We are looking forward to carrying out lots of fun transition activities with the current Year 2 children during the Summer Term 2021.Children will get the chance to visit Thornton and meet their new teacher, spend time in their new classroom and have a tour of the school. It will be great to get to know you a little better and put faces to names.

We are delighted to once again offer you a smooth transition to Thornton Primary School.

The world is a very different place at the moment and things look a little different, as you know. We are not sure how school will look in September but we have included lots of information on this page, including videos to help you get to know the school a little better.

If there is anything in particular you want to know or want to see please let us know and we can do this for you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us on 01213270824 or speak to your current class teacher who will then send us an email.

Sladefield and Thornton work closely in partnership with each other.

Thank you and see you soon!

Click the link below to read a fabulous collection of short stories and poems called 'The Book of Hopes' that we just love!
We have a fantastic library in our school and it's everyone's favourite place to curl up with a good book. We can't wait to share a story with you here.
We cannot wait for you all to visit our new allotment where we grow our own vegetables and herbs.
COMPETITIONS COMING SOON! WATCH THIS SPACE!
Our first topic in September is called Tribal Tales where children will be learning all about 'Life in the Stone Age'.
Each half term at Thornton we set CREATIVE homework to be completed at home during the half term holidays. This homework is a chance for children and parents to work together and showcase their creative side. It also helps children have a clear oversight of the upcoming topics prior to learning about them in the classroom. We have designed some CREATIVE homework for you to 'have a go' at over the next few weeks. When your child attends Thornton in September we would love to see some of this leaning so please bring it into school.
Enjoy!
